A Voice That Won’t Be Silenced
Meet Sterling Jr.
Sterling Jr. is more than a creator — he is a trivia enthusiast, a community builder, and a living testimony to resilience. As an graphic and web designer turned fashion designer, entrepreneur, and advocate for justice, Sterling’s work is deeply personal — born not just from imagination, but from real experiences of discrimination, exclusion, and perseverance.
Sterling’s journey didn’t begin with fashion — it began with frustration. After facing repeated racial discrimination in traditional workplaces, vendor and farmers markets, professional spaces, and business interactions — not because of his qualifications, but because of his identity of being himself. But, he recognized a pattern: Black talent was being minimized, silenced, uncredited, underrated, or tokenized, especially in spaces claiming to be diverse. Instead of shrinking, Sterling made a choice that would shape the rest of his path:
If the world refused to make room for Black truth — he would create his own universe.
From Trivia Game to Movement
Black Cards Of History LLC began as a trivia-based educational tool — a way to share the brilliance of Black inventors, artists, pioneers, and culture beyond the generic Black History Month spotlight.
But this was never meant to be “just trivia.” Sterling infused each question and fact with intentionality. His cards didn’t just teach — they challenged assumptions, shattered erasure, and lit a fire under classrooms, communities, and conversations.
That fire grew into something bigger. What started as cards became a bold, visual brand — blending fashion, history, anime influence, and social commentary into wearable resistance and collectible conversation pieces. Under our nonprofit, we promote Black history and Black awareness through trivia.

Turning Pain Into Power
Black Cards Of History LLC was born as a bold response to the question:
“How do we reclaim our history, tell our stories, and empower our people — all at once?”What began as a simple Black history trivia game quickly grew into a revolutionary platform. Sterling’s original idea — to create trivia cards that honored Black inventors, artists, activists, and pioneers — evolved into a full-scale movement blending fashion, education, and cultural advocacy.
Each product is more than a product — it’s a protest, a conversation starter, and a statement piece. Sterling doesn’t just make apparel. He makes people look twice. Think deeper. Unlearn bias. Remember what’s been erased.

A Voice That Won’t Be Silenced
Sterling created unapologetic designs like:
- “Prove To Me You’re Not Prejudice” — a viral apparel series rooted in his lived experience as a Black vendor in racially biased markets
- “End Hair Discrimination – My Hair Is Not A Threat” — inspired by systemic beauty bias and resistance to conformity
- “My Voice Is Not Your Puppet” — a reminder that allyship is not control
- And an entire suite of trivia cards, puzzles, and virtual games that reflect Black excellence across centuries
His catalog isn’t built around mainstream approval. It’s built around truth, dignity, and impact.

Creative Roots, Conscious Future
Sterling believes that fashion is language, history is power, and ownership is liberation. With every shirt, card, or printout sold, he is rewriting the narrative — centering stories that are too often ignored, and creating tools that equip others to do the same.
And he isn’t done yet.
Black Cards Of History LLC continues to expand into fiction, anime-inspired art, memoir-style blog posts, mental health advocacy through scent-based necklaces, and more. It’s not just a business — it’s a platform for healing, education, and bold creative freedom.

Why This Story Matters
Sterling’s journey reflects what too many Black creators endure: systemic rejection, exploitation, and erasure. But his response was revolutionary — not just to survive, but to build something no one could take from him.

Because when we own our stories, we own our power.
Final Words from the Founder
“I created this because I needed it. Now I make it for everyone who’s ever felt erased, unheard, or unwelcome. Our stories deserve more than textbooks and silence. They deserve art. They deserve anime. They deserve the front page.”
